You are probably here because an app asked you to create an Epiphani account and you wanted to know what that is first. Here is why it asked, and exactly what the account does and does not hold.
Epiphani Studios builds a catalog of focused apps for Mac, iPhone, and the web. Rather than each one keeping its own separate login, they all share one: your Epiphani account. Any app is a door. The account is the house.
Three ways in, one account: a password, your Google account, or a passkey that lets Face ID or Touch ID do the work. Individual apps may also mail you a six-digit code. Every one of them opens the same account, and you can add or drop any of them later in your account settings without starting over.
Your account holds who you are and what you own. It does not hold what you make. Your documents, notes, trips, photos and recordings are handled by the app you made them in, under that app's own privacy terms, and each app keeps its own separate. Signing in gives Epiphani your email address and your purchase history. It does not give Epiphani your content, and it does not put one app's content in front of another.
If you have signed in to an Epiphani app before, the account is already there and the app you are using now will recognize you. If you have only ever bought something, your purchases are waiting on your email address and will attach the moment you set a way to sign in. Either way there is nothing extra to install and no second password to invent.
